“A forest in a jar” was the title of the Manual Workshop held at the Senior Activity Centre in Zabrze on 23.10.2023 as part of the “Flowers for Grandmother and Grandfather – Service Learning project”.
Class 4a and 4b of the Catholic School and the Zabrze senior citizens participated in this meeting. Students started a new gardening adventure , i.e. planting plants in jars , decorating , learning about a variety of substrates. Students recalled the names of the plants that have been planted so far at the school as part of the project. The seniors effectively helped the children with the planting. Empathetic relationships were formed and plans were made for future meetings . Through the school’s inclusion project, intergenerational activities are promoted, and you could see the smiles on the faces of the experienced senior gardeners.
