INCLUDL Schools TPM in Poland – Completion of the Erasmus Project

Completion of the Erasmus Project INCLUDL-Schools: Promoting the Inclusive School in Europe through Universal Learning Design and Service-Learning

On 4-5 July 2024, the last project meeting of the Erasmus programme, funded by the European Union, took place at the Catholic Primary School in Zabrze. The project number 2021-1-ES01-KA220-SCH-000024456 was entitled ‘Promoting inclusive schools in Europe through Universal Design for Learning and Service-Learning’.

The main aim of the project was to promote inclusive teaching methods in European schools by introducing the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Service-Learning. Through these approaches, education becomes accessible and welcoming to all students, regardless of their individual needs and abilities.

The project focused on:

1. integrating UDL into curricula – by adapting teaching methods and materials so that every student has an equal opportunity to learn.
2. Implementing Service-Learning – a method that combines learning with community service that allows students to gain knowledge through active community service.

Last Project Meeting

During the meeting at the Catholic Primary School in Zabrze, the participants had the opportunity to summarise the entire duration of the project, discuss achievements and exchange experiences. The meeting was attended by teachers, project coordinators and representatives of partner schools from various European countries.

Project results

The project ended with significant achievements that will have a lasting impact on the quality of education in the participating schools:

– Increased awareness and competence of teachers in inclusive teaching methods.
– Creation and implementation of innovative teaching materials adapted to different students’ needs.
– Building strong international partnerships to share experiences and good practices.

The completion of the project ‘Promoting inclusive schools in Europe through Universal Design for Learning and Service-Learning’ is an important step towards a more inclusive and accessible education system in Europe. The changes implemented and the experience gained will serve students and teachers for many years to come, and the results of international cooperation will form the foundation for future educational initiatives.

Zabrze Catholic Primary School is proud to have participated in this project and is delighted to have been able to contribute to the promotion of inclusive education in the European arena. We sincerely thank all partners for their cooperation and commitment.
