Pupils at a Polish primary school in Zabrze are actively participating in the international project “Flowers for Grandma and Grandpa”. As part of the project, the students, in accordance with UDL principles :
· used new technologies, applications, programmes in their project work
· gained botanical knowledge
· learnt cooperation
· met with seniors from the Senior Activity Centre in Zabrze
· observed the process of plant growth
· describe their observations
· made measurements and calculations
· pupils learn new vocabulary, mathematical expressions and symbols related to the project topic, used by teachers, seniors and in books
· specialised vocabulary was put into practice during the project tasks, making it more effective for pupils to learn
· for pupils who like to learn foreign languages, lessons in English, German and Spanish with a natural science theme were given to senior pupils
· conditions were created for learning new content in a variety of ways, friendly to pupils with different abilities and predispositions
