Under the Erasmus+ Key Action 2 Strategic Partnerships for School Education program, approved by the European Union Education and Youth Programs Presidency, we held the Multiplier Event for our Erasmus project “INCLUDL-Schools: Promoting Inclusive Schools in Europe through Universal Design for Learning and Service-Learning” (Project No: 2021-1-ES01-KA220-SCH-000024456) on June 27, 2024, at the Anamur Anatolian High School Conference Hall. The project is coordinated by COCEMFE-Spain, in partnership with Anamur District Directorate of National Education, Vakıfbank Atatürk Secondary School, Greece, Poland, and Latvia.
The event was attended by our Mersin Provincial Director of National Education, Mr. Fazilet Durmuş, Deputy Directors Fatih Burgut and Nazmi Kendigelen, Branch Manager Çağatay Çetin, 120 teachers from our district, and 2 foreign participants. After the opening speech by our Anamur District Director of National Education, Mr. İlyas Mercan, Branch Manager Ali Bulut provided information about the Erasmus project statistics of our Directorate and schools in Anamur district.
Mesut Budak, the Anamur Special Bureau responsible, gave a general introduction to the Erasmus program. Following this, the project contact person and Special Bureau responsible, Ayhan Sezdirmez, introduced the project and intellectual outputs. Okan Gültekin, the contact person from our partner Vakıfbank Atatürk Secondary School, provided information about the “Universal Design for Learning (UDL)” methodology. Gülname Kayhan, an English teacher from Şehit Şükrü Ünlü Secondary School and project team member, explained the “Service-Learning (SL)” methodology.
During the Service-Learning implementation workshop, an English teacher from Köprübaşı Secondary School, which is the dissemination school for Vakıfbank Atatürk Secondary School, presented an example of Service-Learning implementation. Turkish teacher Hüseyin Cihantimur and English teacher Özlem Bulut Kılıç shared their experiences regarding their professional and personal development from the mobilities they participated in. At the end of the program, Provincial Director of National Education Fazilet Durmuş delivered a speech expressing her satisfaction.
